New Testament Translation

We are delighted to share that the New Testament translation project continues to make encouraging progress as we move towards the planned commencement date of 1 September 2026.

Several important milestones have now been reached. The Memorandum of Understanding has been drafted and is currently being reviewed by all parties. Recently, the translation team met together, agreed to the MOU, and has begun working through the practical details of the project, including planning which books of the New Testament will be translated first.

This careful planning reflects the collaborative decision-making valued within this particular tribe. Rather than rushing the process, the team is taking time to ensure everyone is heard, shared ownership is established, and potential issues are thoughtfully addressed before the work begins. This deliberate approach gives us great confidence as the project moves forward.

We are also encouraged that contributions towards the project have now begun to flow. Thank you to the churches and individuals who have already started giving. If your church has made a pledge but has not yet commenced contributions, now would be an ideal time to begin so that funding is in place as the translation work begins in September.
