OFFICIALLY STARTED!

It’s happening!

After months of prayer, planning, conversations and preparation, our New Testament translation project has officially started.

The agreements are signed, the financial systems are in place, and the translation team is now getting everything ready to begin the actual work of translation.

There’s plenty happening behind the scenes. The team is setting up their computer systems and learning Paratext, the software they will use to do the translation work. They are working out their schedules and developing a shared work plan, while each translator is reorganising their weekly routines to make space for this important task.

They are also meeting regularly with their Word for the World supervisor, gathering the source materials they need, and beginning to develop a key-word list that will help keep the translation accurate and consistent. These are significant steps. The foundations are being put in place for something that could make God’s Word accessible to an entire language community for generations to come.

And now we’re getting really close.

The first verses are almost ready to be translated!
