Jivan starts with the Tas Baptist’s team

After a few months of preparation, we’re excited to welcome Jivan Thapa into a new role with Tasmanian Baptists, bringing his experience, passion and intercultural ministry gifts to serve churches across Tasmania.

Jivan has been working with Citywide Hobart Nepali Church as a Project Coordinator and is also part of Baptist Mission Australia’s Intercultural Team. His experience includes community support, administration, finance, worship, Safe Church and developing policies and procedures for multicultural ministry.

In this new role, Jivan will initially support churches with policies and procedures, particularly as they navigate the practical realities of ministry in an Australian church context. He will also be visiting English-speaking and multicultural congregations across Tasmania, building relationships and exploring how churches can work more effectively together.

Jivan is particularly excited about bringing English-speaking and migrant churches closer together in ministry, mission and administration, as well as helping churches navigate areas such as finance and conflict resolution.

Importantly, Jivan is available to assist local churches where his experience and expertise may be helpful. If your church has a question, project or challenge where Jivan might be able to help, please get in touch.
