GIMP
GIMP has been described as a FREE version of Adobe Photoshop. It is a cross-platform image editor available for many operating systems.
Inkscape
Inkscape is a FREE open-source vector graphics editor similar to Adobe Illustrator. It is widely used for both artistic and technical illustrations such as cartoons, clip art, logos, typography, diagramming and flowcharting.
Microsoft Powerpoint
Some may not realise that if you don’t have access to dedicated design software, you can use the basic Microsoft suite of applications for this purpose. Microsoft Powerpoint in particular is used by many to design images, adverts and social media posts.
