Mid-Year Assembly 2021
Reengage | Reimagine | Realign
Twice a year, our Tasmanian Baptist Assembly is held at Riverlands, Longford.
Commencing with dinner on Friday evening, and reconvening Saturday morning, Assembly is the final decision-making body for all matters relating to Tasmanian Baptists. It is made up of delegates appointed from each church, Council members, elected officers and registered pastors. However, anyone is welcome to attend and enjoy the day together.
A new inspiring focus
Just as Tasmanian Baptists are changing, so too is Assembly. In some quarters Assembly was once thought of as 'boring' or 'contentious'. It may have been in the past, but it has been far from that in recent history. These days it is consistently described as 'inspiring' and an 'encouragement'.
Our upcoming mid-year Assembly will focus on three words - reengage, reimagine, realign. They are not only our theme for this year, they reflect the heart of our revised current strategic plan. We will take time to explore each of the words, and why we believe they are important for us as we move forward.
We will also review our finances, including the proposed budget, and hear from a number of churches of the exciting things God is doing in our state.
Save the date!
This year's May Assembly will be held on Friday (7pm dinner) and Saturday (9.30am start), May 7 and 8, at Riverlands, 159 Wellington Street, Longford.
